Baptism Is Getting Wild: Horse Troughs, Hot Tubs and Hashtags by Melissa Congi review – ‘the book for you!’

* I may have to revoke my blessing for this title and delete it, but OMG !!! This is going to be the BEST book I’ve ever read!!!!!!

After an alpha round and a bit of a drop in subject matter, Melissa Congi went for crazy creative ideas to re-imagine the different “horses” between characters, which helped move the story along quickly.

The main characters are Rain, who is a food blogger. Her community is open, loving and a supportive source of love and support. Her biggest crisis comes when she gets news that a close friend has been diagnosed with breast cancer. She commits herself to the project, but then her husband Ron has an affair.

Shiloh is a snowboarder, and her main dilemma comes when she gets lost in a snowstorm and has to meet her boyfriend Jay in a very small town in Montana, so they can go rafting and honeymoon.

Christine is an anchor, and her big problem comes from her reaction to the interference of a major network tv news anchor after a red carpet event.

Along the way there are almost endless references to social media.

I personally found this storyline interesting, and happy to see on the page what happened at the end of @MelissaCongi’s app, Read It Now!

A.Q. Berridge runs a fascinating blog, which looks at the Facebook Journalism Project, among other topics.

Baptism Is Getting Wild: Horse Troughs, Hot Tubs and Hashtags is my new favorite book. It left me feeling great about the future of books, and so excited about what’s going to happen to my favourite characters. If you’re an avid reader or someone just getting into books – I can assure you this is the book for you!

Don’t forget to read the chapter from chapter two, Missing Tee Taps, on Bing’s blog.
