It’s that time of year again…again!
In Spain, it’s la Liga season, which is set to kick off this week in two weeks. Not only does it kick off across the continent this time of year, but a much larger soccer audience will be tuning in across the US, and around the world.
Tonight sees a big match-up from the UK, when Manchester United takes on Liverpool in preseason action at Anfield. Next up: Real Madrid and Sevilla at Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan. It’s another grudge match in Manchester, with the Red Devils having a storied rivalry with the reds, and a heavy contingent from both Real Madrid and Sevilla out in force tonight.

That is not a complicated prediction. Both sides will be keen to come out on top tonight, but a win for Liverpool would be a worthwhile surprise. Liverpool is on a high right now, sitting second in the Premoabase-with the service of new signing Mohamed Salah. Plus, Klopp does not like to back down when it comes to certain rivalries, and often challenges the full might of the club on the field when the teams clash. Plus, Liverpool rarely loses to Real Madrid in a Barça derby, beating the galacticos five times since 1996.
But Liverpool are the underdogs tonight, and Real Madrid is the most decorated squad around, with 11 titles to their name. No pressure.
If I was in the crowd tonight, I would definitely be pulling for Real Madrid. This is another possible highlight for Spain, as the Europa League and cup competitions generally do not give many red cards and players to make the news for the wrong reasons.
