The UK, France and Italy are warning travellers to South Africa on Friday to avoid travelling to Seychelles and the Bahamas due to a new variant of H5N1, the H5N1 avian flu virus.
The European commission said the quarantined zones would be implemented immediately in Seychelles, due to be announced on Friday, and the Bahamas on 30 November due to specific signs.

“During this time, travellers are advised to refrain from non-essential travel to these countries and to check the status of their flights at airlines’ websites,” the commission said in a statement.
